A feasibility study and a proposal for an extension and renovation of an existing elementary school at a historical location in central Säter. Participatory methods such as design dialogue with the staff and the pupils have been conducted throughout the process. The proposal follows a model of holistic sustainability for school buildings in a northern climate and the transformation of the existing buildings is based on the adaptive reuse of the existing resources.
